MUSIC
Hi — I’m Rich Douglas. I compose cinematic, emotion-driven music for games — pieces that don’t just fill space, but tell stories, evoke mood, and stay with you long after playing.
Over the past 20 years, I’ve scored titles like Shadowgate VR, Insurgency, Stranger Things: The Game, and Lifeless Moon. My goal is always the same: to create immersive soundscapes that adapt with gameplay and deepen the player’s connection to each moment. I was once the audio director at Paradigm Entertainment (a THQ company), and have worked alongside a ton of dev teams and filmmakers to help shape their vision musically — experiences that have sharpened my ability to deliver on tight deadlines and high expectations.
I earned my credentials at the Guildhall at SMU (Cohort 2), concentrating on game design and audio. I bring flexibility to every job, combining orchestral, electronic, and cultural influences to craft something uniquely resonant. Whether it’s sweeping strings or subtle textures, my focus is on pushing boundaries and elevating the emotional experience.
So, if you’re looking for music that adapts, inspires, and amplifies your game’s world — let’s talk.

PRESS AND PRAISE
"The soundtrack's a twitchy, shimmering pleasure."
- Eurogamer
"There are places where the sweeping landscapes and subtle orchestral soundtrack come together so perfectly that I just had to stand and stare for a moment."
- PC Gamer
"With any great story, there comes an amazing soundtrack. To me, Lifeless Planet feels more like a movie than a video game. Each scene had its music composed and tailored to the player’s emotions."
- The Critical Gamer
"The orchestral soundtrack provides a perfect complement to the sinister mood of your journey through the castle, and there’s a number of musical cues, such as the staccato suspense theme that plays when a torch is about to run out, which augment the haunting atmosphere."
- adventuregamers.com
"The Rich Douglas-composed soundtrack is majestic and mysterious, and Board uses it sparingly to preserve its power to move you. It is genuinely impressive to arrive at a Lifeless Planet vista, received by a stirring musical crescendo. It’s a place that deserves a more compelling reason for you to visit it."
